Book Design & Publishing
Tim Wickenden has completed the design of five books that have been published through Kindle Direct Publishing on Amazon; three books written by himself and two books written by other local authors. Tim has designed both the layout of the books and the striking images that can be found on their covers. These books are;
Angel Avenger, Take Back and That Girl in the Box Car, by Tim Wickenden, Guilty Diamonds by H. E. R. Hatts, and Huw is Missing by Martin Whitbread.
But design is only part of the process. If you want to sell your books on Amazon, you need to know the tricks of the trade to get you noticed and Tim has first hand experience in the selection of key words and categories that will push your book up the best-sellers list and give good advice on getting your book reviewed.
Tim Wickenden
Tim, aka The Naked Designer, was born in Zimbabwe. He spent his early childhood there and in Hong Kong, returning to the UK age eight to attend boarding school, which he describes as ten years of hell. He spent his school holidays in West Germany becoming interested in that country’s turbulent history. A visit, age twelve, to the site of the former concentration camp inspired his article A Brief History of Bergen Belsen. Before moving into adult education, Tim worked in the IT sector. In 2005 he relocated to South West Wales, setting up a carpentry business, and began studying creative writing. He published his first historical novel (2019), with two more Take Back and That Girl in The Boxcar (2024). His history article A Tale of Two Boys has been downloaded thousands of times and finally put an accurate date to a famous photograph of Hitler presenting awards to Hitler Youth boys. A passionate bookworm, Tim reads widely, and when he doesn’t have his nose in a book, he can be found walking or paddle-boarding the coast near his home, which he shares with his wife and son. Y Cerrig Publishing
All five books designed by Tim have been published independently on Amazon. The most recent book, Huw is Missing, was financed and published by Y Cerrig.
Y Cerrig is creating a publishing house that will provide the technical, artistic and financial assistance for new authors to fulfill their potential.
